Samarendra Kumar Datta, born on 1953, has a diploma in Fine Arts from Sailendra Charukala Mahavidyalaya. He has taken part in a number of annual exhibitions held by different institutions and organisations over the last decade. He has also participated in many group shows in Kolkata and New Delhi with other contemporary artists. His works are wonderful with delicate colours, textures and folk form of Bengal. He had received Academy of Fine Art’s Award in 1994. His works have been collected by many individuals and art connoisseurs.
