Dilip Chaudhury like a true artist, who’s not been afraid of trying his hand at almost every subject and medium under the sun, Dilip Chaudhury has metamorphosed into a sought – after artist with a niche skill of creating above all, cityscapes of abundant beauty and character. Using fine nuances of color, light and shades, besides a strong sense of perspective, Dilip has executed truly riveting canvases, each of which has a unique story to narrate. They are not flat, architectural depictions but have grandeur, movement, people and therefore, life infused into them. His latest works capture, with skilled brushstrokes, the charm and character of Kolkata, which are constantly reinventing themselves, without losing out on their original essence of character. These are real portraits of a city, pulsating with action, mirroring its strengths and weaknesses in a poetic language. The city of Kolkata is depicted with a profusion of monsoons, abundant populace and heritage structures. Sometimes Dilip Chaudhury uses his imagination to highlight a simple Rickshaw puller and makes stylistic compositions from unusual angles, which succeed in enthralling the viewer.
